Associated with Vaisakhi is the celebration of the creation of the Khalsa Panth by the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This is a special time for the Sikhs as it brings together the spiritual and physical needs of a Sikh family. It is a time for Sikhs to share the liberation from tyranny 300 years ago, a faith that believes in One God known as Whaeguru who is here ever present amongst us.

Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji taught all good Sikhs to follow "Wand Ke Chhakna", meaning share what little you have, has meant that no Sikh, no man, woman or child shall go hungry. Sharing of food, clothing and one's prosperity with other by doing good deeds and working an honest hard life has enabled Sikhism to put faith back into human mankind.

Vaisakhi is Vaisakhi to a Sikh and to rejoice the liberation and the sense of good will at Vaisakhi also means singing and dancing to Bhangra and for two whole weeks Southall and Hounslow in West London, England showed what and why Sikhism as a young religious faith has such an immense following.

Upon creation of The Khalsa by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, we Sikhs can be sure that Raj Karega Khalsa will prevail and be true, it is written and it is spoken in every Ardas that is said on this Earth. I wish you all a very Happy Vaisakhi 1999.
